Dumbarton United AFC 2005s have received their brand new home, away and training kits after announcing last season that they will make the exciting and positive move to become Vale of Leven FC 2005s.

Following a very successful year in the Paisley, Johnstone and District Youth Football League, and after much consideration, United 2005s’ coaching staff felt a chance to re-brand and join one of Scotland’s most historic clubs was one not to be missed.

With a talented squad of young players all based locally within the West Dunbartonshire area, the new Vale 2005s will compete in tier one of the PJDYFL which is set to kick-off on Saturday, August 10.

Vale 2005s representative Jason Hewins said: “Vale of Leven will provide our young players with an iconic name, access to excellent coaches and a formal pathway to senior football at the highest level through the under-19s, under-21s and into senior football.

“The opportunity to play football in the highest tier of arguably the best league in Scotland will require a development in our footballing ability. We believe this will be best served alongside Vale of Leven at their Millburn home.

“We thoroughly look forward to the adventure and thank the entire team across all the age groups for their support to deliver this positive change.

“As well as thanking Vale of Leven, the 2005s would also like to thank their new sponsors for the 2019/20 season. Vale of Leven FC 2005s are delighted to announce that Clyde Process Valves have become their new home kit sponsor, Cedarwood Wealth Management continue their sponsorship with the club and become their away kit sponsor and Dunbritton Housing Association are their equipment sponsor. Without their support none of this would be possible.
